DEMONS ARE TERRIFIED AT YOUR PRESENCE

By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi
Luke 10:20 - "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."
It is interesting to know that these three characters, Judas Iscariot, Thomas , and Peter who betrayed Jesus were among those who drove out evil spirits away from demonized persons.  That is to say, any follower of Jesus Christ can cast out demons. It is one of our rights as God’s children (Mark16:17) despite our imperfections.
Any born again Christian can cast out devils. It does not require special human training from a special school. Demons are likened to flies  and casting them out is as easy as saying "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her” Acts16:18 NIV
It has to be done in faith in the name of Jesus Christ. That was why the disciples were amazed at the ease with which demons responded to them. Introducing man- made techniques into the process of casting out demons is counterproductive and harmful .
Demonic activities are being masqueraded as Holy Ghost church activities as apostle Paul found out, it comes in the form of foretelling events (seeing visions) as in the case of the girl in Acts 16:16-17” She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling.  This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." This girl could easily be mistaken for a church prophetess or an evangelist ,however , the fact that there was exchange of money for her services gave her away as a demonized entity. Jesus in Matthew10:8,  expressly warned His disciples against charging fees for prayers and teaching the word as seen in many places today under so many appendages. Charging fees for prayers is the foremost sign of a false teacher of the gospel even if the dead are being brought back to life in that ministry.
A true servant of God will never minister for a reward or a prize. It is an abomination  (Isaiah 45:13) There are preachers whose stock in trade is fortune-telling and have made quite a fortune from it like the seer- girl in Act 16:16-17, young ministers and church members are told that in order to receive the anointing for prosperity in their ministry , they have to pay money to a super- apostle or prophet's  like the case of apostle Simon in Acts 8:18-19 NIV “When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, "Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit." he was rebuked by Peter for thinking the Holy Ghost miracle working power is for sale.
Fortune -telling diminishes the importance of Christian discipline and character needed for societal reform  and it deprives many from having a personal relationship with Christ ;the ministry or prophet becomes more important than the in-debt study of scriptures. It promotes corruption , superstition and hinders technological development . It glorifies Satan; many fear demons than they revere God .
Fortune- tellers make casting out demons look like a Hollywood movie set  with the preacher as main actor. We are to look unto Jesus in other to avoid these pitfalls, the anointing of the Holy Ghost is never on vacations and there is no such thing as being “outside”  God’s presence or running low on the anointing (Psalm139:8) even when we are at our weakest (2cor12:10) ,God remains ever strong and accessible to us.
We certainly need to know that the devil and demons exist, and we need to recognize demonic operations. We should be conscious of the Lord's presence in our affairs and recognize that we are well able to defeat the enemy :for  greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Receive overcoming grace as you read this now in Jesus name.
