THE CONSEQUENCE OF TAKING THE HOLY COMMUNION UNWORTHILY

1 Cor 11:23-26
 “For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me."  In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this to remember me as often as you drink it."  For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord's death until he comes again.”
    The holy Communion is the most sacred act of the Christian worship requiring the highest level of reverence .  It is the opportunity to physically touch the body of the Most High God going by Jesus Christ’s definition of the elements of the Holy Communion . He said in   Matt 26:26-29 NIV …."Take and eat; this is my body."   Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. “
    Imagine being invited by the most influential president on earth for a dinner , you are most likely to be at your best . Then imagine being invited by the King of Kings and God of gods , the monarch of the universe , the grand commander of the angelic hosts , the one before whom every knee must bow and every tongue shall confess to , what should be your disposition towards such an invite . 
     That’s was why the Corinthian church was chastised for treating the most sacred aspect of the Christian worship with levity , the scriptures describes this as ‘unworthily’ in 1 Cor 11:27 a term ‘anaxios’ in the Greek which means ‘irreverently’  . The Corinthian church turned it into a feasting party with many getting drunk in the process and the poor neglected in the distribution of the bread and wine .
     The consequence of this act of betrayal deprived the church of the benefits of taking the holy communion and instead of strength they became weak emotionally ,physically, socially ,politically, spiritually, intellectually  and financially resulting in the death of some out of frustration.
   We should not take the lord’s grace for granted  and avoid acts that would grieve the spirit of grace . God deserves all honor, worship and adoration.
Prayer: Heavenly father , forgive me of my sins against you , I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for our salvation , I receive as lord and savior and receive strength for extraordinary advancement in the face of adversity in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
