YOUR SURE REFUGE AND PROTECTIVE SHIELD

" The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. But he will sweep away his enemies in an overwhelming flood. He will pursue his foes into the darkness of night." Nahum 1:7‭-‬8 NLT

   "The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble."  Psalms 9:9 NLT

   God's love for us is unconditional but the same cannot be said of his blessings . Just as to enjoy an umbrella one must first open it , God's promises for protection are conditional . 

   You must pray in your time of need before God intervenes .Praying while using God's word gives legitimacy  to divine intervention on our behalf . The Bible says " I called on the Lord , who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies." 2 Samuel 22:4 NLT

Being thankful and Keeping to our vows with God regardless of how unpleasant it may seem  facilitates our prayers while in trouble  " Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Psalms 50:14‭-‬15 NLT

   You must show reverential fear and love for God to enjoy divine protection . The scriptures says " But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.

" Psalms 33:18‭-‬19 NLT

    You must stay very close to God's word in troubling times to enjoy divine protection  Being close to the lord builds our faith in his ability to protect us  . The Bible says ": Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. " Psalms 91:1 NLT

   Staying close to his word teaches obedience because we have a role to play  in our protection . Noah's salvation was tied to building an ark and entering into it with his family as instructed by the lord . Can you imagine how ridiculous this must have seemed initially. ( Heb 11:7 , Gen 6:12-14,22, 7:1,11,17-23) 

   You must avoid living dangerously and being reckless  . King Ahab disregarded an instruction to avoid a war but he disguised himself as a soldier and went to battle and died from a randomly shot arrow . 

  Faith in the Lord is indispensable in our protection . Faith is believing in unseen realities . Daniel was sentenced to death in the lion's den but the Lord saved him because of his faith in the lord .  "The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God." Daniel 6:23 NLT Trust the lord for your protection ,he will save you from your distresses.

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power for protection from disaster in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
