WE ARE THE CIRCUMCISION

"All must be circumcised. Your bodies will bear the mark of my everlasting covenant."Genesis 17:13 NLTBible  

   The scriptural account of Abraham's encounter with God is the foundation upon which the Christian's faith is anchored . Abraham was born into a culture of polytheism and his quest for truth led him to an encounter with the creator of the universe. 

  The position of a monotheist is  premised on the universally accepted logic that postulates the objectivity of truth . Truth cannot be relative and truth can only exist within the circumference of an existing transcendent authority . 

  Regardless of where one is ,mathematical authority  states that one plus one equals two within the context of physical science . Just as it is with mathematics so it is with creationism , there cannot multiple universes with multiple or subjective truths . There can only be one universe with a supreme authority :the definition of truth -God. This  formed the basis of Abraham's quest for a personal relationship with God . 

   God reveals himself to those who worship and seek for him objectively in truth. And true seekers are rewarded with righteousness. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.  Righteousness is a state of being justified by grace through faith and it requires an agreement or token for the purpose of validity . 

     This was what necessitated the mark of circumcision. Divine contracts are sealed with blood. When Adam sinned,  blood was shed when an animal was killed and it's skin and blood was used to cover Adam . The animal took Adam's place of punishment by death for the wages of sin is death. The cutting off of the foreskin was an act of bloody sacrifice . It was an offering of life to God our justifier . The life of an animal is in its blood. The scriptures say  "On that very day Abraham took his son, Ishmael, and every male in his household, including those born there and those he had bought. Then he circumcised them, cutting off their foreskins, just as God had told him." Genesis 17:23 NLTBible . 

  The act of circumcision predates the laws of Moses and the law does not invalidate the blessing from being circumcised . 

   Abraham was declared righteous and therefore blessed before the circumcision therefore,  it will erroneous to say righteousness is obtained by the observance of a religious duty . Circumcision is an act of faith for victorious living . It was a reminder of the covenant of peace and safety between Abraham and God. King David  won his battle against Goliath through the acknowledgment of the provisions of this covenant . 

   Under the new testament the born again Christian is under the Abrahamic covenant by faith in Jesus Christ (Abrams seed) and we are circumcised by the Holy Spirit  , the scriptures say "For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God.. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people .Romans 2:28‭-‬29 NLTBible. Also " For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort," Philippians 3:3 NLTBible  

    Moses' wife applied this truth in her prayer for her dying husband " On the way to Egypt, at a place where Moses and his family had stopped for the night, the Lord confronted him and was about to kill him. But Moses’ wife, Zipporah, took a flint knife and circumcised her son. She touched his feet with the foreskin and said, “Now you are a bridegroom of blood to me.” (When she said “a bridegroom of blood,” she was referring to the circumcision.) After that, the Lord left him alone" .Exodus 4:24‭-‬26 NLT Bible.  You are delivered from from the law of sin and death by the power of circumcision.  

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to break free from self destructive tendencies in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
