FAILURE BEFORE MEN IS NOT A CURSE; YOU ARE BUILT GREAT

GETTING OUR PERSPECTIVE ABOUT GREATNESS RIGHT
God's perspective on greatness is laterally inverted and mutually exclusive from that of man . Despite his status among the prophets John the baptizer ended in prison Luke 3:20, "....he shut up John in prison." Much of apostle Paul's writings{ over 60% of the new testament}were written from the prisons. His ordeals are summarized in  2 Cor 11:27" In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness".KJV. It was more pain than pleasure.
It is the misunderstanding of what greatness is that is responsible for the confusion in the world today, there is such an overwhelming crave for relevance and recognition . The desire for recognition is such an addiction today so much so that we are ready to go any length to be recognized ..This is as a result of the gradual collapse of the family structure . People now spend less time with family thus there is a yearning for attention missed during our formative years  . The desire for service is at it's lowest ebb thus destroying work ethics and relationships .
Prophet John spent over twenty nine years of his life preparing for a six month assignment, followed by a year and a half  in prison before he was beheaded ; to many  this may be termed a curse or failure yet the Lord Jesus said John was the greatest man who ever walked the earth (Mt. 11:11).
John's greatness didn't lie in his own success, but in the success of another. It lay in the successful fulfillment of his purpose which was to serve as the launching pad for Jesus's ministry.
Few people want to be at the background .We always desire to be at the forefront even if we lack the requisite qualifications. We have adopted a mentality that unless we are in the limelight we have failed. That's not God's perspective on things .
We may be amazed to see how the Lord evaluates greatness when He rewards us in heaven. Many people who did not receive accolades while on earth will shine like the stars in eternity. God judges according to quality not quantity (I Cor. 3:13). Wherever you may be , you are as relevant as the man at the top. Receive grace for deliverance from every thing that seeks to diminish your dreams in Jesus name
