ACCEPTABLE DRESSING IN THE CHURCH (PART 1)

  But the Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looked on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
A dress says either of THREE  things about the wearer
1. I am responsible and reliable .e.g .conservative wears .  
2- I am a rebel and unreliable e.g touts
3- I am a free spirit, emotionally unstable and I hate being under authority . e.g punks , clothes that reveal one’s nakedness.  
-  It is a sin to judge by physical appearance – John 7:24
 What is a righteous fashion judgment? A righteous fashion judgment is a judgment that is not based on physical appearance (see II Cor. 4:16-18)
-    God calls us priest.  Rev. 1:6. God dressed his priest in Ex. 28:40
-    Who is a priest? A priest is a person that has access to talk directly to God on behalf of humanity. We should dress with a priestly consciousness.
GOD’S STANDARD OF DRESSING
-  In beauty and in glory, you mustn't borrow clothes to wear Exodus 28:40
- At any given time, or our dressing should reflect royalty, beauty and respects.
-  We should not dress as harlots. Prov. 7:10
 EXAMPLES OF HOW GOD DRESSED HIS PEOPLE
- Dress your best (Being fashionable)  Eze 16:9-14 Exo. 28:39

An example of evil family patterns is that of King David who defiled Uriah's wife ,murdered him and his son Absalom murdered his brother Amnon (2Sam13) dethroned him and defiled his concubines openly (2Samuel16). CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
