WHAT TO DO WHEN THERE IS NO LOVE IN A HOME

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
There is a remarkable difference between what the world considers as love and what the word of God says love is. While the world defines it as compassion for self and for someone from which there is a derivable benefit, biblical love goes beyond passion: it is purposeful, necessary and sacrificial ; ironically, more persons perish as a result of love than any other reason globally .Over 5 million unborn babies are slaughtered yearly through abortion as a result of people making love .
The origin of wars are traceable to a person seeking to demonstrate affection for someone .In judges 15 , Samson declared war against the Philistines because his father in-law refused him access to his wife .Most men live their lives with a 'conquest' mentality and are driven by the desire to impress a woman. Adam ate the forbidden fruit not because he was deceived but because he wanted to please Eve; when he was confronted by God he confessed in Gen.3:12 "And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." likewise there are men who are engaged in life threatening ventures in a bid to prove their love to a woman and vice versa. We sometimes demonstrate love through egoistical pursuits:seeking things beyond our training and reach; it’s the reason behind life's conflicts.
This way of thinking places unhealthy pressure on men who position themselves as the source for the fulfillment of their spouses’ emotional, physical and financial needs and failure to meet goals is often met with bitter strife and deprivations ( James 4:1) This is the reason behind the recent increase in the demise of young husbands and failed relationships .We should daily remind our partners that God is our sole source of sustenance and that we are sustained by His mercy.We live by faith in God. A reasonable dialogue between family members and change of lifestyle to suit one's budget is all that is needed to avert a breakdown. This perspective of life is the key to breaking the yoke of prolonged marital delays among singles in the church, (Isaiah 4:1 ) Single women with expensive tastes find it hard to find true love , suitors consider such as high maintenance articles.

Love cannot function in the absence of faith which comes by hearing God’s word,we should spend more time in God’s word. You cannot truly love your family without biblical faith.Ask God to grant you love for your family on a daily basis. Join a church community where ample time is spent teaching God's word and avoid fables :they lead to marital insecurity Titus1:4,1Tim.1:4, Hosea4 :6). The solution to all family crisis is contained in God's word. He will turn your captivity around.
Love places a demand on a person which can only be met by faith, without which those who depend on us become painful liabilities. This is why men soon quit their marriages for no rational reason . The scriptures teaches that God’s kind of love requires living a sacrificial life for one's family, it is because of the inherent risk involved in making such a degree of commitment that we need wisdom which can only be obtained through God's word.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8AMP says " Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails.."this is the commitment we make whenever we say we love someone.This scripture should be read in all family prayer meetings,
It was the driving force behind Jesus' earthly ministry (Matthew 14:14 ) We should be guided by the law of love which says in Luke 6:31 AMP "And as you would like and desire that men would do to you, do exactly so to them"

Prayer : heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace for peace and reconciliation in my family in Jesus name.
