HE HUMBLES THE PROUD MAN

  "You will be driven from human society. You will live in the fields with the wild animals, and you will eat grass like a cow. Seven periods of time will pass while you live this way, until you learn that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses.’ Daniel 4:32 NLTBible

  What was the crime of this king , the Bible says    "As he looked out across the city, he said,  ‘Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’ In the pursuit of self exaltation he embarked on infrastructural development while the citizens languished in poverty . Development is incomplete without an increase in human capacity. 

 Daniel 4:30 NLT This man began to ascribe glory to himself. He taught he was responsible for the air he breaths, the ability to keep his heart beating twenty hours a day , he thought he was responsible for the brain cells and molecules which generate the energy for human intelligence . He thought he was the one who determined the family and nation he came from that made those projects possible. He was caught up in the maze of the illusion called human success. 

   Pride is the pursuit of human success at the detriment of a wholesome  relationship with our creator . The universe and all in it  belongs to God (Psalm24) and whenever a person begins to celebrate personal success , he or she is removed from circulation in society temporarily or permanently because God hates pride. 

    We all have or know friends or relatives  who were once celebrated but are now out of circulation because of pride.  Proud persons are dangerous to human existence , the two world wars were caused by proud men and women. For the safety of the majority God silences the proud.  

God has not called us to be successful but to be fulfilled , fulfilment comes from a vigorous pursuit of a righteous ideal.( Matt5:6) .

  Instead of saying 'we did it! or I did it ! , it should be thank God its done. Nothing destroys nations and marriages like the pursuit of success. It is the spirit of pride at work. God removes pride during our dark hours ( Job 33:15-17)in order to save us from eternal damnation. Pride or success gives a  high look.  The bible says " Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure." Psalms 101:5 NKJV and " The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day." Isaiah 2:11 NKJV

    If we are proud , we will be humbled , it is an irrevocable law of divinity  . Jesus Christ said  "I tell you..  for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. ”Luke 18:14 NKJV (Matt23:12; Like14:11) Being humble teaches us that God controls the universe. (Job 42:1-6; Dan 4:32-35) 

  God is close to and reveals himself to the humble ( Psalm34:18; Isaiah 57:15) and if we are humble we would be promoted above the proud ( Matt23:12) because humility brings about honour and goodwill .The Bible says  "By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life".Proverbs 22:4 NKJV humility can lead to material wealth . Abraham was very wealthy  yet humble ( Gen13 :2)

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to serve in humility in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
