GO BEYOND EMPATHY

James 2:15-17 NLT Bible “ Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, "Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well"—but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn't enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. “
        Walking in love demands identifying oneself with another person’s experiences, feelings and emotions, especially in misfortunes. It requires showing compassion and being sympathetic to others with understanding of what they are going through. The scriptures says in 1 Cor 12:25-26 NLT Bible “ This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.”  The believers in Jesus Christ are an extension of God’s loving hands to one another and to the world , the scriptures says in Phil 2:2-4 NIV Bible  “ then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. “
      The questions that should be on our mind while making major decisions is how much it impacts on others. Sometimes, it may not be pleasant to us , but it pleases the lord and is for a greater good .An example of this was the case of Jonah being sent to share the message of salvation to the same persons that where known for terrorism . Jonah 4:10-11 NIV ” But the Lord said, "You have been concerned about this vine, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?" God cares for terrorists too and wants them saved and it will take a church full of love to reach them.
      It is easy to show concern for others when we consider how we would feel if positions were reversed. In the course of life’s journey we will find ourselves in roles similar to persons we met in the past. It is not enough to sympathize with persons in distress or in sin, God would want us to do something about it , the scriptures says 1 John 3:16-17 NLT “ We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.  If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God's love be in that person?”
Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and savior and receive the Holy Spirit and grace for overflowing abundance to help those in need in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
