YOU CAN TRULY BE HAPPY IN THE MIDST OF HATERS

Image
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi Luke 6:22 "Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. "     The word 'blessed'  is the Greek word 'makarios' which means to be supremely blest; fortunate, well off, happy . It is ironic how a seemingly adverse condition can become of so much benefit to a child of God. With men it is impossible but with God all things are possible.         It is because of the inherent blessing in being hated that Jesus said in Matthew 5:43 "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy  neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that  hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"       Believers in Jesus Christ thrive under perse...

YOUR TONGUE CAN EITHER BUILD OR DESTROY YOUR HOME

Image
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi Mark 11:23 "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith"        Jesus made this statement while standing upon mount olives with His disciples ( Mark 11:1). He was referring to a  physical mountain ( mountain of olives)  He wanted the disciples to know the power inherent in a person's tongue. The human tongue determines the course of a person's destiny: we are where we are now because of words spoken in the past and our future will to a large extent be determined by what we are saying about ourselves this moment.          Words determine whether a home will be at peace or not , that's why we are enjoined to fill our mouths with words of grace that edify the hearers. ...

THE LAW OF CHRIST HAS REPLACED THE LAWS OF MOSES

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to  fulfill."        The word 'fulfil' is the Greek word 'pleroo' , it means to make replete, level up (a hollow), to diffuse, satisfy, execute ,finish (a period or task), verify. Jesus came to diffuse the tension between man and God due to our inability to keep the laws of Moses. These laws included the ten commandments given to Moses on mount Sinai which was later expanded into 613 sundry laws.         Nobody could keep the law , they were designed to hold humanity accountable before God and show the need for a saviour.  For, example in Leviticus 21:5 NLT “The priests must not shave their heads or trim their beards or cut their bodies." Any preacher  who has ever had a hair cut is guilty of violating this law . Again it says in Leviticus 11:10 NLT "But you must...

HOW TO SUSTAIN YOUR ZEAL FOR THE LORD

Image
By Rev, Michael Benson Ajayi  Hebrews 12:3 AMP "Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds."     The annihilation of Satan and humanity and the start of a new human race is all that would have been required to solve sin's problems by God but then He would have no justification to speak on the virtues of tolerance, patience and self-control. These are necessary given that the earth was not created perfect but with room for improvements. At creation, the scriptures says God saw everything as 'good'  the scriptures did not say 'perfect'. Perfection leaves no room for improvement as in 'Time' :you cannot add to it or remove from it.          Jesus identified with our imperfections for salvation to ...

RENEWING YOUR PASSION FOR GOD

Image
By Rev,Michael Benson Ajayi  John 6:60,66 "Many therefore of his disciples, when they  had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?..From that  time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.  "       Most persons initially come to the lord for needs to be met without making any long-term commitment to serve Him. God wants our needs met and beyond that He is seeking for true worshipers; disciples and instruments through whom the world will come to know Him.         Discipleship demands standing for the truth at all times, a high level of discipline and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the call of duty .It is this aspect of following Christ that most persons are least interested in because it requires selflessness .The average Christian struggles with selfishness; it is behind life’s crisis. Research shows that less than 10% of the church’s population ar...

GRACE FOR DIVERSIFICATION AND MULTIPLICATION OF RESOURCES

Image
By Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi  Matt 25:22-30 NKJV “ He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.'  His lord said to him,'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'  "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.   And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'   "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.   So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.  So take the ta...

WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU BEGAN WELL

Rev.Michael Benson Ajayi Gen 1:1-2 NIV  “ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  John 1:1 NIV  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.     The life of the believer is a life of faith. Faith is the evidence of that hoped for and the substance of that not seen. It is the title deed of that which is expected. The scriptures teaches that the just shall live by faith. This means your security, health, provision, finances is guaranteed as long as there is faith. We should depend on God for everything, even the ability to breath clean air; that’s only when we can be truly grateful for life.       Often God puts a dream in our heart to execute a project, maybe a business, a building, a charity , academic pursuit or ministry . It always starts with a resonating word such as “start a business”   or” build an orphanage“ or ministry . The word given at that moment con...
