DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR FAITH

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

WE HAVE EQUAL MEASURE OF FAITH
Luke 17:5 "And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith."
When muscles undergo intense exercise, as from a resistance training bout, there is trauma to the muscle fibers and this triggers the satellite cells to start fusing together and to the muscles fibers, often leading to increases in muscle fiber cross-sectional area or hypertrophy. This process is the same when we put our faith to work. It has been discovered that when muscles are not put to work, they begin to deteriorate. Faith is like spiritual muscles needed to receive the provisions that God has already provided for us. The scriptures say He has already given us and not trying to give us all that pertains to life and godliness (2Pet.1:3). Everything you shall ever need throughout your lifetime on earth has already being provided for.  We need faith to partake of them.
Faith as used here is the greek word ‘pistis’ meaning total reliance  or dependence on God. It also means total loyalty to God. Whenever you board a taxi , your life for that moment has been entrusted into the driver’s hands. That is an example of faith in action.
There are varying degrees of faith just as the human muscles can be developed into different sizes. It is the same human muscles but through exercise it develops into a stronger frame. The bodybuilder who is desirous of a new body shape adds more resistance or weight to what he has to carry. He experiences new resistance and draws strength from within to overcome the new weight , likewise when the  scriptures speak of  our increasing in wisdom (Lk. 2:52)  it is our physical intellect drawing more and more on the perfect wisdom of God that has already been deposited in us during the born again experience .This is was reflected in the growing years of Jesus Christ  from childhood to the point  of beginning ministry . We likewise increase in the supernatural God-like faith.
The believer is given the supernatural faith of God at salvation and with this God kind of faith we believe the gospel and are saved (Eph. 2:8).It is like a mustard seed planted in the spirit of the born again Christian watered  by hearing the word  of God. So the more the more we hear the word, the more  our faith grows (Rom. 10:17) producing fruits of righteousness .

Every believer in Jesus Christ  is given the same measure of faith at salvation however not all believers use what God has given them. You may have two children from the same home and feeding on the same food but one is dedicated to an exercise routine that involves lifting weights. Definitely , there would be a remarkable difference between both children. Likewise, it is not a matter of the lord giving us more faith but how much of it have you used. We have been given the same measure of faith ( Rom !2:3). Faith is of no use if it isn’t put to work.
James 2:26 AMP  … faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead” Faith always places a demand on an act of obedience in order to bring about the manifestation of the miraculous . Disobedience destroys faith.
Anybody can live by faith as long as our priorities are towards serving the master for without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb11:6). Faith has no substitute, even our best acts of piety are of no value if not done in  faith.  Most times we struggle in our faith lives because most of our actions are done to please man instead of God. We cannot make pleasing man our top priority and still work in faith.  John 5:44 AMP  How is it possible for you to believe [how can you learn to believe], you who [are content to seek and] receive praise and honor and glory from one another, and yet do not seek the praise and honor and glory which come from Him Who alone is God? “ Increase in faith as you read this now in Jesus name.
