RECEIVE FREEDOM FROM ANXIETY AND CONFUSION

John 5:16-27, ".....And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him because he had done these things on the sabbath day."
      When the Israelites left Egypt in a process referred to as 'the exodus', there were approximately  six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children (Exodus 12:37).  They had been slaves to the Egyptians for 430 years (Exodus 12:40). God miraculously fed  the Israelites with manna during their journey in the wilderness to the promised land .
        They gathered manna everyday except on the seventh (Exodus 16) this was compensated by the fact that they gathered  twice as much manna on the sixth day . This event was a prelude to the observance of the seventh day as a  Sabbath day in the ten commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai on two stone tablets  (Ex. 20:8-11).
         The Sabbath day was a memorial of the day of rest on the seventh day of creation. No physical work was allowed , it was a time for rest for man and beasts of burden (Exodus 23:12) our minds and bodies need regular rest for efficiency. Under the new testament , we are not condemned by God for not observing this custom .Jesus did not observe the sabbath according to tradition (John 7:21-23). The Sabbath is symbolic of the rest we receive in our souls when we put our trust in Jesus Christ for our sustenance  Colossians 2:16-17 , 1 Peter 5:7NIV says "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you". God wants you to perpetually be in the mood of the Sabbath.
        The Sabbath also symbolized the emancipation of the Jews from slavery to freedom by the mercies of God (Deut 5:15) . Under the dispensation of grace the ceremonial observance of the Sabbath was a shadow of things to come and that are now fulfilled in Christ. In Him we find rest for our souls in a turbulent world.
       God's plan is for all believers to daily enjoy the rest that stems from the Sabbath and this is only made possible when we cease from doing things by our own effort by allowing the Spirit of grace express Himself through us (Hebrews 4:1-11). The Sabbath rest under the New Testament is not a day but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Gal. 2:20; Heb. 4:10). 
      It is the same way a baby in the mother's womb is not concerned about how he or she will get fed but is catered for by the mother through the umbilical cord. The believer's rest in God's love makes him or her an instrument that brings rest to others in a chaotic world. Through you many shall find rest in their marriages, businesses, families, jobs and communities. 
Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me for my sins against you , I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation , I receive him as lord and saviour and receive grace and freedom from anxieties and confusion in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
