GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Eph4:8 "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men." 

 " Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?"Hebrews 2:1‭, ‬4 KJV

  The gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful and life transforming . Man is spirit and as such has spiritual needs that can only be fulfilled by an undeniable encounter with the power of the Holy Spirit . Humanism seeks to give explanations for life's events therefore, it takes being able to prove the validity of the scriptures beyond reasonable doubt to convince a humanist . 

  God had to convince Moses beyond reasonable doubt through the burning bush  with his rod turning into a snake and the miracles in Egypt before Moses could be used to liberate the Jews from Egyptian bondage .( See Exodus Chapters 4 to Chapter 10) . Until a person encounters an undeniable miracle from God , it will be difficult for such a person to speak about the Holy Spirit. 

   One of the reasons for my devotion to God is the number of miracles I have been instrumental to by the Holy Spirit. We are instruments of righteousness in God's hands and He wants to use you in the most extraordinary manner if you are willing . God wants the gospel preached beyond theoretical knowledge of Bible verses. 

" For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." 1 Corinthians 4:20 KJV

    This is why the Holy Spirit empowers believers with gifts (Greek: doma ; it means presents) . He speaks through us and teaches us how to respond to questions about our faith. (Mk13:11Lk12;11:12 ; Jn:26) 

The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and guidance to spiritual truths and technological discoveries ( 1Cor. 2:12, 1Cor 12:8, 2Chron26:15)  He reveals the mysteries of the gospel (2Tim1:13,14) .He gives healing and discerning abilities ( 1 Corinthians 12;8-10)

  He gives us the gift of prophesy,  every believer in Jesus Christ can prophesy ( Act2:17,18 ; 2Pet1:21 ) Prophesy is the ability to speak God's mind concerning a thing .  

   The Holy Spirit gives us strength (Eph 3:16) and  restrains us from errors ( 16;6-7)   he is our leader . He gives specific directions (Isa 30:21; Act8:29 ) He is gives us the character of the 'Son ' (Rom8:14) 

  He gives us the ability to pray powerfully in tongues ( Rom8;26,27,Jude1;20, 1Cor14;4) Tongues unifies families and the church (Act4:31-32) The Holy Spirit is given to the obedient ( Acts5:32) There are unpleasant consequences for disobeying the Holy Spirit . Apostle Paul disobeyed the warnings of the Holy Spirit  and was imprisoned and beheaded .( Acts 20:22-23; Acts 21:10-14) Rebellion against the Holy Spirit results in him fighting against us (Isaiah 63:10) 

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation , I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for uncommon creativity in Jesus

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
