LOVE IS THE GREATEST LAW

  "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT  " Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

" 1 Peter 4:8 NLT

  The christian life is an expression of God's divine nature , it is beyond keeping to the written codes of a religion . The Christian faith is intuitive , emotional and logical and driven by sacrificial love. 

    Love is liberating and yet critical and has definite boundaries. Love judges. God is love and the supreme judge of the universe. A loving mum would not allow her children abuse hard drugs or indulge in excessive viewing of television . To a child , being judged by a parent for  being irresponsible may be considered as unfair and inconsiderate but the parent's intentions are for the wellbeing of the child. Love protects and sometimes protects us from ourselves.  

     Our collective security and prosperity is tied to our fervent love for one another .The Bible says    " You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart." 1 Peter 1:22 NLT love is indispensable to Christian growth . Life is meaningless and tasteless without love .  Love proves a person is truly a follower of Jesus Christ , the bible says  " Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35 NLT The world cares less about your religion if you have no compassion and openly display hatred for others .  

   Love is the greatest law of God , it is more than all fastings , offerings and sacrifices ( Matt12:33) Love is required as a condition to experience eternal life . (Luke 10:25,27,28 ) Love is a fulfillment of all the laws of God (Gal.5:14)  

   Love is the most important Christian virtue .The believer is expected to be grounded in love . The bible says " Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong."  Ephesians 3:17 NLT and " Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony."Colossians 3:14 NLT

     Love gives an assurance of our salvation , the Bible says " If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead." 1 John 3:14 NLT

   Working in love protects against demonic attacks .Spiritual darkness thrives in the absence of love therefore, love is a shield against darkness , the Bible says  " Anyone who loves a fellow believer is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble."

1 John 2:10 NLT

Prayers: Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and  receive the Holy Spirit and power to love in difficult situations in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
