ECCLESIASTICAL INFLUENCE ON SOCIETY

 " The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 NLT

  The power of God is contained in the gospel . Whenever the gospel is preached ,the life changing power goes to work in the life of the hearers and affects the environment . 

    The way people respond to the word of God determines its effect on the society . The citizens of Nineveh accepted the gospel despite how harsh it was and they repented and it resulted in the deliverance and development of Nineveh . The bible says “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.” On the day Jonah entered the city, he shouted to the crowds: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!” When the king of Nineveh heard what Jonah was saying, he stepped down from his throne and took off his royal robes. He dressed himself in burlap and sat on a heap of ashes. When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened." Jonah 3:2‭, ‬4‭-‬4‭, ‬6‭, ‬10 NLT

   The truth does not need to taste good or be colorful to be accepted . As long as its a word coming from the lord , it must be heeded to. Our lives depends on it. Before a disaster befalls anyone the lord always warns but we often neglect the warning signs .

   The state of the economy of a nation and its security is determined by the type of preaching and people's respond to the word of God. Jonah preached a message of repentance , Jesus preached a message of repentance and commanded his disciples to do likewise. The bible says " From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. ”Matthew 4:17 NLT . The church is God's elect (Ecclesia) and when preachers preach repentance ,the society will be the better for it . The message of prosperity is incomplete without true repentance.

  The early disciples preached repentance " So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God."Mark 6:12 NLT 

   False prophets cannot preach the message of repentance . They say you can prosper without repentance .It is only possible by the Holy Spirit. Only the repented soul can preach repentance  because they are receptive to believe the Word of God ( Acts16:14, Acts16:20,21) 

   The unreceptive soul rejects the word of God ,the preaching of the gospel to them is considered foolishness (1Cor.1:18) Satan can blind the eyes of the unreceptive from reviving the truth of the gospel ( 2Cor4:4) this is the reason why disciples suffer persecution from the unreceptive ( Jn7:7: Lk6:22; Acts16:20-21) 

    Disciples are aware of the possibility of persecution and rejection ,they are a witness on the day of judgment when all mankind shall give account before the giver of life .  " So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 'Romans 14:10 NLT 


Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to defend the gospel in the face of strong opposition.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
