GOD SEEKS FOR DISCIPLES NOT CHURCH MEMBERS

" Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19 NLT BIBLE

   A disciple is an ardent follower of the ways of the master Jesus Christ . He or she has made a commitment to teach the teachings of  God's kingdom ( John 12:26 , John 13:15) Jesus Christ came to show us the ways of the kingdom through many signs and wonders and mandated his disciples to do likewise. 

   As a disciple your devotion to Jesus Christ is supreme . Disciples love Jesus Christ above others . The Bible says “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money." Matthew 6:24 NLT

   Your attitude towards money shows whether you are a disciple or not . The disciple does not need financial inducement to serve the Lord. Jesus Christ never took offerings from persons as a precondition to heal them but he never spoke against receiving offerings as a demonstration of love and gratitude to God for his goodness and mercy towards us , he rather encouraged the act of Thanksgiving  ( Mark1;39-44) . Our testimonies should be accompanied with affordable thanksgiving offerings . 

   The disciple loves the lord above all ( Lk14:26, Matt10:37) Their service to the Lord is out of love and gratitude ( 2Cor.5:14, Eph 5:1,2, John14:21,23)  Disciples  live for and are in Jesus Christ and He dwells in him them  ( John15;4,910, 1John2:6; 3:24) Disciples are committed to fulfill the will of the Master. The Bible says " Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings." John 8:31 NLT and " Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”  Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers.  Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”Matthew 12:48‭-‬50 NLT. 

   Discipleship goes beyond being a member of a church or denomination , non of such exists in heaven . God has a people called by his name ( 2Chronicles 7:14)  and nothing else. 

   Disciples are persons who are totally dedicated to the Lord . The bible says " So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own." Luke 14:33 NLT It involves abandoning other pursuits and forsaking the pursuit of material possessions. Disciples do not take pride in the ownership of any material possession. Possessions are mere tools for the promotion of the gospel . There wealth is primarily for the spread of the gospel of God's kingdom. 

   The bible says “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.  Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal."Matthew 6:19‭-‬20 NLT.  Disciples have forsaken worldly materialistic ambitions . You can't live for God and also live for money . (Matt6:24) Those who live for money are spiritually unfruitful (Mark4:19) always full of excuses for not preaching the gospel. . 

  Prayer : Heavenly Father me of my  sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel with signs and wonders following in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
