SOUL WINNING THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF PEACE

"I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity." 

1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬2 NLT

   The word 'people' in this scripture is the Greek word  'anthrōpos' it means a human being, whether male or female and in a wider sense , all human individuals with the added notion of weakness, by which man is led into a mistake or prompted to sin ,with the adjunct notion of contempt or disdainful pity with reference to two fold nature of man, body and soul with reference to the two fold nature of man, the corrupt and the truly Christian man, conformed to the nature of God .( Thayer /Strong Dictionary)

    As long as a person is a human being , they need prayers. All humans have similar needs. There is a need for love and to be loved, also a need to be forgiven and be free from guilt and condemnation . There is also a need for security , peace and provisions . 

    Prayer is the license  for God to intervene in our affairs. Persons of all religions, tribes and tongue  need the prayers of the church of Christ . This is how we develop love for others. You cannot pray for persons without loving them. Married persons who pray for each other daily tend to love each other more .There are occasions where praying for a person is not required . An unrepentant wicked soul who is out to destroy you does not fall into this category if that wasn't the case then we would have to pray for Satan and his demons. There are persons whose hearts are sold to do the enemy's bidding in that case the bible says "If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death."1 John 5:16‭-‬17 NLT . 

   Regardless of the situations we are expected to live in peace with all men. The Bible says " Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone."Romans 12:18 NLT God wants you to be in peace with your enemies , the Bible says " When people’s lives please the Lord , even their enemies are at peace with them".Proverbs 16:7 NLT. Christians are expected to promote peace wherever they are found ,the bible says " And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.” Jeremiah 29:7 NLT

   Pray for the salvation of the unsaved in your community while creating a peaceful environment for the promotion of the gospel .  

 We promote peace by trying to relate to their way of thinking in order to win them for Jesus Christ. We were all once sinners therefore show love and seek  to live in peace with sinners Acts 21:39, Acts 22:3 ,1 Cor.9:19-22 .  Paul said " I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. " 1 Corinthians 10:33 NLT

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to love those who are difficult to love in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
