SEEK FOR BUSINESS MANAGERS WITH GOD'S HEART

 “‘And how much do you owe my employer?’ he asked the next man. ‘I owe him 1,000 bushels of wheat,’ was the reply. ‘Here,’ the manager said, ‘take the bill and change it to 800 bushels. ’ “The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.  Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.'  Luke 16:7‭-‬9 NLT

   The last part of this scripture has been misinterpreted by some preachers  to mean making friends with mischievous businessmen to learn their ways and find help in times of financial failure.  These preachers  claim the children of this world are smarter than Christians . This is not true. Being smart or deceitful in business is not divine favour . God hates corruption .

   The Bible says " Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds." Colossians 3:9 NLT 

 From all indications this manager was in contravention of this scripture , his actions are classified as wicked deeds . 

   A major reason for unemployment in Africa especially in Nigeria is the rising cost of production in  business  . Most business owners have to provide electricity, security. water , transportation, in some cases roads with multiple taxation and high electricity tariffs and worst of all pilfering by staff as in the case of the manager in Luke 16:6‭-‬7 NLT

 "The man replied, ‘I owe him 800 gallons of olive oil.’ So the manager told him, ‘Take the bill and quickly change it to 400 gallons. ’ “‘And how much do you owe my employer?’ he asked the next man. ‘I owe him 1,000 bushels of wheat,’ was the reply. ‘Here,’ the manager said, ‘take the bill and change it to 800 bushels.’

  This is more devastating if there are loans to be serviced by business owners.  Unfortunately, many businesses have been lost to the activities of unfaithful managers.  

    The saying ' na where man dey work na dia im go chop'  ( license to steal at work )  has done so much damage to the nation's economy resulting in loss of jobs, marital failure, deaths , insecurity and brought shame upon the church of Christ  We are called to live a contented life in righteousness.

    When the bible says make friends with the children of the mammon of unrighteousness   it does not mean we should embrace economic sabotage but should learn their ways to save your business from mismanagement by instituting a high level of accountability and transparency . This helps against business and financial failure . know your enemy's strategies .

   The doctrine of work smarter not harder is no licence to mismanagement. Your job or business is an extension of the Christian ministry , therefore, "..whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father." Colossians 3:17 NLT  Jesus builds businesses through disciples in the work place and does not support stealing . "..Steal no more ' Eph4:28

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for extraordinary promotion .
