HEALTHY COMMUNICATION IN A MARRIAGE

 "If you stop listening to instruction, my child, you will turn your back on knowledge." Proverbs 19:27 NLT Bible

      The marriage covenant between two  believers is a sacred bond requiring  being properly equipped in order to maximize the potentials of the marriage institution. 

     The purpose of marriage is the creation of an environment where people can experience the presence of God and to raise  children who will grow to become disciples of Jesus Christ. This is achieved through godly role modeling. 

       When two persons from different backgrounds come together as a couple , they come with their skills, experiences , personalities  and emotions to form a body that never existed and requires the help of the Holy Ghost to navigate through the strange terrain of the mysteries of the new creation realities. The marriage institution is a microcosm of the new creation in Christ .

   This requires knowledge coming from both parties as the spirit guides . God will often give information about us to our spouse to reiterate the the need to submit to one another ."And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." Ephesians5:21 NLTBible  

 A husband is to submit to his wife for the purpose of getting Holy- Ghost-inspired knowledge from her and vice versa . 

     The scriptures says "The Lord preserves those with knowledge, but he ruins the plans of the treacherous."Proverbs 22:12 NLTBible      Knowledge from a spouse can save a person from crisis . Pilate would not have handed Jesus Christ over to the Pharisees if he had listened to his wife . Listening to your spouse' wise counsel gives wisdom and joy   "For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy." Proverbs 2:10 NLTBible . Knowledge based marriages are filled with joy . It is unwise to belittle your spouse " It is foolish to belittle one’s neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet" .Proverbs 11:12 NLT Bible. Be quiet while they are speaking then you can understand what is being said for your good.

       A spouse can be both a moral compass, emotional thermometer and close friend . Your spouse can feel your convictions and emotional fluctuations ,this is a gift from God to help you and this is most important when your judgement is beclouded by external pressures . 

     We should always pray for a listening ear, a humble heart and spend quality time with each other. 

Prayer: Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and savior and receive the Holy Ghost and power to solve complicated family problems in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
