STRONG CONVICTIONS

  "But there are some Jews—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—whom you have put in charge of the province of Babylon. They pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They refuse to serve your gods and do not worship the gold statue you have set up.”

Daniel 3:12 NLTBible 

  It requires very strong convictions to do what is right in the face of very strong opposition .Christianity has been under strong opposition throughout the ages, and we are in a world where sin is celebrated and rewarded . As part of his strategy to frustrate God's people , Satan has infiltrated the church with his ideologies and manifests through preachers who promote the pursuit of the low human nature rather than uncompromising Christian character . 

   The scriptures says "But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve."2 Corinthians 11:14‭-‬15 NLTBible . The Bible tells us how to identify a messenger of Satan : they are corrupt , troublesome ,  promote love for money and greed  . The Bible teaches that the love of money is the root of all evil .

     These preachers teach that a person's  spirituality is measured by how much money he or she has . To them godliness is just a way to acquire wealth "These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy."1 Timothy 6:5 NLTBible 

The presence of such preachers in any community results in a culture of rebellion ,political and economic instability . 

   The believer in Christ must show himself approved before the lord by studying the word of God and put into practice the instructions contained therein .It requires belonging to a church bible study group , daily prayers in the spirit , benevolence, fasting and sharing your faith with others. 

     Daniel's three friends Shadrach , Meshach and Abednego were scheduled for execution because they refused to worship the King's golden image . They were fully conscious of the consequences of rebellion against the King's orders . But they believed that it was more important to be obedient to the Lord than to compromise their beliefs to satisfy people even an influential head of state (Daniel 3:12)

    These three young men were courageous and held to their convictions in the face of stiff opposition . We should learn to take a stand for God no matter what the personal cost . 

  Apostle Paul was imprisoned for his belief in the lord and like him we should be able to say out of a strong conviction " That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return." 2 Timothy 1:12 NLT. Bible

   Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power for steady spiritual growth and stability in the face of stiff opposition in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
