NAME CALLING IN FAMILIES

"Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it."Matthew 27:27‭-‬30 NLTBible 

   Name calling is abusive language or insults.  These soldiers where manifesting a characteristic of the lower human nature : pride . There evaluation of Jesus Christ was based on the dictates of their carnal senses . They had no clue whatsoever about who he  was . 

     The scriptures describes Jesus Christ in this light : " Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ," Colossians 1:15‭-‬16‭, ‬18‭-‬19 NLT Christ ,the Word of God and the source of life  could have destroyed them instantly but that would have been contrary to the prophesies about him.  “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”Acts of the Apostles 8:32‭-‬33 NLT. Jesus' earthly lineage was ridiculed yet he said nothing . 

    Wisdom and truth need no defenders , neglect them at your peril. They are indispensable reoccurring decimals in our lives . No man has fought against truth and wisdom and lived to tell a sweet tale. Likewise ,the believer should imitate Jesus Christ in dealing with name calling . Surely he was hurt by the mockery but his response was to take it quietly without answering back . 

    It is common to hear children and spouses using insulting words against each other. They will give account of every utterance before God , Jesus said " And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.  The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” Matthew 12:36‭-‬37 NLTBible 

    Insulting words results in very deep cuts in families resulting in cracks that may affect unborn generations . Families with a penchant for name calling are prone to , illnesses, painful breakups and business failures : the power of life and death is in the tongue . Husbands as heads of the families should set the tone followed by wives against name calling. If name calling or mockery is common in your family take proactive steps to correct it.  Ask the lord to fill your hearts with the fruits of the Holy Ghost. You may need to change your closest circle of friends replacing them with persons who will serve as a check on your utterances .Psalm 141:3 "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.'

   Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power for self control and excellence in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
