DEALING WITH COMPLICATED FAMILY PROBLEMS

" As all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives, and children, He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s." 2 Chronicles 20:13‭, ‬15 NLT Bible 

    The men of Judah were threatened by a huge ferocious army , there was literally no way out of this problem . Their response to this threat was to involve their wives and children in a prayer session for deliverance . 

    This was an opportunity to teach the children how to depend on the Lord in times of crisis. Children need convincing that the Lord is always with them regardless. When children are exposed to family problems and cooperate prayers made concerning them , it gives them the opportunity to see the Lord fulfill his promises concerning our protection .

   It is advisable to let children know about family problems and challenges and let them pray about it . This is a way of building faith in the Lord as they see God work in your family . 

      A parallel of this was the problem between Daniel and king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon .     " Daniel went at once to see the king and requested more time to tell the king what the dream meant. Then Daniel went home and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. He urged them to ask the God of heaven to show them his mercy  by telling them the secret, so they would not be executed along with the other wise men of Babylon." Daniel 2:16‭-‬18 NLTBible

  Daniel and his three friends were scheduled for execution because the  king wanted to know the meaning of a dream he found difficult remembering.  Daniel's approach to solving this problem was to request for more time while he shared his burden with his believing friends and they prayed about it .

    This is a template on how to handle complicated family problems be it illness, financial crisis, threats to name but a few . We should not allow ourselves be intimidated by the problems knowing that God loves us and is bigger than any problem and he answers prayers . 

   We should place our confidence in God's ability to solve problems, we may need to share our problems with trusted matured Christian friends praying to the Lord for intervention and wisdom to handle situations as they arise. The Bible says "Fear the Lord , you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing."Psalms 34:9‭-‬10 NLTBible

     Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation  I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to overcome complicated problems in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
