SELF EXALTATION AND DESIRE TO BE HONOURED BY MEN .

" Jesus also taught: “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces.  And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets."Mark 12:38‭-‬39 NLTBible 

   Persons who grew under oppressive guardians or parents experience an emotional injury that results in an unhealthy desire to be honoured in their adulthood. If untreated it will result in broken homes and inability to keep a relationship. These person like to be in churches were they would be worshiped and praised regularly. It is symptomatic of a low self esteem. 

   Many religious leaders especially in Africa desire worship by members and these members are conditioned psychologically to desire honour . It is one of the reasons behind oppression by leadership,crave for academic certificates amongst Nigerians even if they are not in use. Many will testify to being oppressed by a close relative or friend .

     The Bible says .".. it’s not good to seek honors for yourself.

" Proverbs 25:27 NLT self promotion is not sustainable because it is not of God .It is a major destroyer of marriages . Self promotion is described in  Jude 1:16 NLT" These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want." This type of behavior hinders marriages 

When we seek to please men we eventually displease the Lord . The bible says "No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God."

John 5:44 NLTBible. Leaving to please men other than God results in identity crisis ,confusion and lack of faith and unfulfillment in a  marriage. Social media is unhealthy for persons suffering from self- exaltation syndrome SES . It opens doors to a fellowship of persons suffering from SES  thus, amplifying the effect on the victim .   " For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.' John 12:43 NLT. This is human wisdom ,it is not of God , the Bible says "Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil." Proverbs 3:7 NLTBible (1 Cor 3:18, 1Cor 8:2) The wisdom of man creates a know -it-all attitude , this is a major destroyer of marriages. The bible says " There is more hope for fools than for people who think they are wise." Proverbs 26:12 NLTBible

    It is difficult to share a home with a 'wise guy" because they love arguing about things above their knowledge (Psalm131;1, Prov.13:10 ,Prov28:25) Self exaltation results in corruption and marital infidelity ( Mark7:22-23) Self exaltation syndrome results in a disconnection from spiritual authority, reality  and without being accountable to anyone it eventually results in one's downfall . In our prayers we should ask for the fruits of the Holy Ghost in our families (Galatians 5:22) and be accountable to a mature Christian teacher .

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to be humbly commit to a righteous course  in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
