TRUE GREATNESS IN GOD'S EYES

" So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 18:4 NLTBible 

 And Samuel told him, “Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel."1 Samuel 15:17 NLTBible 

    King Saul was anointed Israel's first king by an act of grace, he did not merit it in any way . He was of the smallest tribe and least recognized family . He saw himself as unqualified for the exalted office until pride was found in his heart and he was removed from circulation and replaced with a little known David 

    God uses the least likely of persons to do the extraordinary. The bible says " God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important."1 Corinthians 1:27‭-‬28 NLTBible      God's choice for leadership is usually the most insulted ,vilified  fellow . It is the one considered to be a fool by the so-called proud and wise worldly elite . God hates pride and  frustrates the proud . 

   True greatness in God's eyes is the heart that is humble  . The bible says " But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant," Mark 10:43 NLTBible  God gives political power for blessing or for judgment . Not all political leadership meets with God's approval like in the case of King Saul . God had another choice in David while Saul was in office and frustrated King Saul out of office. 

   King Saul had no regards for his pastor -prophet Samuel because of the illusion of success ( Rev.3:17) . A person starts falling the moment he or she thinks there is no need for spiritual authority ( Eph6:1-2) Saul disconnected from every form of authority as soon as he became king . 

    Before marriage , it is advisable to know your spouse's spiritual authority. A man without spiritual authority lacks humility and is prone to drastic life-altering change and are easy prey to Satan like Judas Iscariot. Apostle paul  was more educated ,exposed and yet was under Peter's authority and wrote " Everyone MUST submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished."Romans 13:1‭-‬2 NLTBible .  Jesus was not pleased with the successful philanthropist Cornelius until he came under Peter's authority . The bible says "..Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, WAS WARNED from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee. Acts 10:22 KJV. Philanthropy is no substitute for being under a pastor's leading . The absence of a pastor indicates pride . God warns all men to desist from this behavior . Like Cornelius ask God to show you who your pastor is and go after him or her . We can't enjoy certain blessings without our  pastor's leading .

   Success does not allow for humility that's why we should pursue fulfilment instead of success ( Matt 5:6) The place of a spiritual authority is indispensable in a marriage .

A family needs a priest (Husband) high priest ( Pastor) and Great high priest (Jesus Christ) . This is necessary for family bonding in humility.

  God helps the humble and spares them from troubles ( Psalm 9:12, 1Pet5:5b, Ps34:18) and gives them extraordinary wisdom for excellence in all spheres of life .

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to walk in extraordinary wisdom for excellence in Jesus name.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

Believe!”John 20:27 NLTBible     Faith is the guarantee of the manifestation an unseen reality . It is the reason behind the hope we have in God and the fulfilment of his promises. It is the substance ( title deed) of things hoped for ,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) .The Bible warns against not having faith in God. Lack of faith is equal to calling God a liar and untrustworthy. COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
