DO NOT BE RECKLESS

"After Josiah had finished restoring the Temple, King Neco of Egypt led his army up from Egypt to do battle at Carchemish on the Euphrates River, and Josiah and his army marched out to fight him.  But King Neco sent messengers to Josiah with this message: “What do you want with me, king of Judah? I have no quarrel with you today! I am on my way to fight another nation, and God has told me to hurry! Do not interfere with God, who is with me, or he will destroy you.”

2 Chronicles 35:20‭-‬21 NLTbible 

     The importance of having the spirit of discernment cannot be overemphasized . This is why seeking for divine wisdom on a daily basis should be part of prayers . Many Christians have the impression that being busy and zealous for missionary work is a substitute for critical reasoning and discernment. This has led to painful losses and even death of some of God's people and the question has been how can God allow this happen to this faithful brother or sister?

   Josiah was a great revivalist and prospered he was the king of Judah. The lord  had given him victory in major battles and he assumed God will overlook his errors always and paid the ultimate price for this error. He was reckless . 

    He was killed in a battle against a person that could be considered , uncircumcised , a non Hebrew . Many think God only speaks to persons of a particular religion . God speaks to non Christians too and can use them to fulfill his purpose. King Josiah was ignorant of this truth and died a needless death. (2Chronicles35:22-24). We can save ourselves from disaster by not engaging in dangerous and life threatening activities . Avoiding a fight and stepping back is not a sign of weakness but strategic positioning for divine safety. The lord fights our battles .

   We have a role to play in our safety by obeying God's word . The Hebrews were required to paint their doorpost with blood to avoid the destroyer from killing them (Exo  12:21-23) Noah's family  was saved from a flood by building an ark ( Gen6:12-14, 22,7:1,11,17,23)  

Noah loved and feared the lord  , this a condition for protection and we must also pray in faith 

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord as saviour and receive the holy ghost and power for breakthroughs and divine safety.

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF FAITH

COMMON CAUSES OF DISUNITY.

Proverbs 29:22 NLTBible        Disunity is defined as : disagreement and conflict within a group. It is the greatest hindrance to the promotion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Disunity creates an avenue for Satan to promote sin.       The causes of disunity are not farfetched ,they include : Unhealthy Crave for power or self- promotion. Whenever there is an unhealthy pursuit of influence in a family or group it results in resistance. Self-promotion gives birth to unfair practices and injustices. In Numbers 12: 1-15  Moses' sister Miriam and Aaron rebelled against him desiring to rule by force and in Numbers 16 :1-35 Korah led an insurrection against Moses desiring to be part of leadership.
